Mahogany sheets
Mahogany is a medium to dark reddish-brown wood with fairly fine texture. Wood workers & model makers can use these sheets for a wide variety of design & build projects.
- Sheet size: 100 x 915mm
- Sheet thickness: various (see drop down box).
- The grain can sometimes be wavy and colour tone may vary piece-to-piece.
- Use a wood glue to adhere. Remove any wood glue seeping out of the joints quickly with a damp cloth, since leaving it will change the colour of the wood.
- Danish oil will bring out the beauty in the wood.
- If you need to paint the mahogany, use a primer first.
- Plantation grown, FSC & PEFC certified.
- These sheets can be cut to your artwork in our Laser Department
If you wish to finish the mahogany with a gloss or satin varnish, we recommend using a sanding sealer first.
This will minimise absorption of the varnish into the wood, thereby maximising the effect of the gloss or satin finish.
