We know that the news about 4D modelshop's closure was difficult for the community. We at J Perkins have been a proud supplier for over 30 years and are honoured to carry on the legacy of the webshop. We're committed to providing the same high-quality products and excellent service you've come to expect. Thank you for your patience and support as we get everything up and running on our new Shopify site.
How much longer I can still order on modelshop.co.uk?

The modelshop.co.uk webshop is longer being updated with correct stock values. So, we strongly recommend you switch to ordering on this website. It has the most accurate stock levels.

We will keep modelshop.co.uk 'Shop' open for a while longer, but will turn it off as soon as we feel we have migrated all the content over.

The remaining resources will be maintained on modelshop.co.uk.
Who is behind 4D.shop?

4D.shop is now managed by J Perkins, a company that has proudly supplied 4D modelshop for over 30 years. We're committed to continuing the excellent legacy of the webshop and serving the model-making community.
What's happening with the old 4D production workshop?

Great news! The dedicated team from the 4D production workshop has reopened under a new name, Arch 60. They are now offering their bespoke services, including laser cutting, resin casting, and more. We have a long-standing cooperative relationship with them and are excited to continue working together.
When will out-of-stock products be available?

Since we have been supplying 4D modelshop for over 30 years many of their products we already stock, for example, Evergreen polystrene, K&S precision metals, Zap super glues and epoxies, UHU glues, Excel knives & blades, extensive wood selection, and many more.

We've been working hard to restock all the products you love. We've already placed many new orders with 4D's suppliers, and we expect our first shipments to arrive in late August. We'll be updating the product pages as soon as they become available!
Why did you change the product organisation?

Almost all of the products from the old site are on the new site. In fact, in some product categories we had a much wider selection of products, so these are now also available.

However, due to the nature of the different platforms and the wider assortment, we have to restructure the menu structure. We will continue to refine this as we get feedback.

How is your shipping affected?

We have already been shipping orders that have come in through the old site.

We ask for your patience as we bring in new stock and work out how best to provide a quick delivery service.

In general, orders placed with us by 3pm on a business day will ship the same day.
Is the retail shop open?

Sadly the retail shop was a casualty of 4D modelshop's closure. Arch 60 is operating out of the arches directly next to the retail shop.

Click & Collect - we will be working to get a click & collect service up and running in September.
Can I use my modelshop.co.uk account details?

Unfortunately all the encrypted passwords could not be migrated, so you will need to create a new account.

Many people may find they already have a Shopify account, since it is such a ubiquitous ecommerce platform.
Do you still offer student discounts?

Yes, we plan to continue the same offers 4D had set up. Over the coming weeks we will work to get those systems in place to verify student accounts.
Do you still take phone orders?

We've focused on providing a seamless online ordering experience through our new Shopify website. We encourage you to place your order directly on the site, as it's the quickest and safest way to get your products. If you're having trouble, please contact us via email, and we'll be happy to help.

The old phone number does continue to operate, but is currently being answered by Arch 60.
What about my old orders from modelshop.co.uk?

Unfortunately, we weren't able to migrate past order history from the old website. If you need a copy of an old invoice or have a query about a previous order, please email us with as much detail as possible (e.g., date of purchase, order number), and we'll do our best to assist you.
Can I still find old blog posts or guides?

We know how valuable the resources on the old site were. We're currently working on migrating the many great guides, directories, and other content to our new community hub at modelshop.co.uk. This will be a gradual process, but we're committed to making these resources available again.
