About 4D
For nearly 34 years, 4D modelshop was a central hub for the creative community, serving model-makers across London, the UK, and internationally. The physical retail shop was a landmark for professionals and enthusiasts alike, and the online presence provided a wealth of resources, including job boards, freelancer listings, course and company directories, and many valuable guides.
A New Chapter with J Perkins
We know that many of you were saddened to hear that 4D modelshop recently ceased trading. Given its long history and significant contributions to the model-making community, we at J Perkins understand the impact this news had.
We're thrilled to announce that we've acquired the 4D modelshop.co.uk website. As a company that has proudly served the creative community from our Kent base since 1975, we are deeply committed to continuing the excellent service and valuable resources you've come to expect. The webshop at modelshop.co.uk will soon be turned off. We have launched a new webshop at 4D.shop.
Our goal is to be a central hub for the model-making community, just as 4D was. To that end, we are dedicated to maintaining and developing all of the valuable resources you relied on, including the job boards, freelancer listings, course and company directories, and the many model-making guides. We are also committed to ensuring the continuation of the highly regarded New Blades show.
We are incredibly excited to guide 4D into its next chapter and look forward to continuing to support and grow with the model-making community. Thank you for your understanding and continued loyalty.
About J Perkins
J Perkins has been a trusted name in the modelling world for over 45 years. In fact, we have been a proud supplier of modelling materials to 4D modelshop since it first opened its doors. The company's passion lies in supplying a huge range of materials, tools, and accessories for makers, modellers, and builders. From its beginnings in a South London warehouse in 1975, the business has grown to a purpose-built facility in Kent, where the team, with hundreds of years of combined experience, continues to serve the creative trade. We understand hobbies because we're modellers and builders ourselves. While we do supply radio control models, our core focus has always been on providing the essential supplies, glues, paints, and tools that bring creative projects to life. We're proud to represent some of the world's leading brands and look forward to continuing our mission of supporting the UK's vibrant creative community.
