Pewter is a type of metal alloy that has been used for metal casting. It's primarily composed of tin, with small amounts of other metals added to improve its properties. It is ideal for casting products requiring fine detail and a polished surface.

  • Weight: 1kg
  • Melting Temperature: around 295-315°C.
  • Lead free alloy conforming to BS5140.
  • Tin content is 91%, the other ingredients are antimony ≤10% and cadmium ≤0.1.
  • Pewter has a distinctive white colour, is tough and malleable.
  • Not suitable for producing sharp edges as in filigree decoration

 

Pewter has a naturally lustrous and attractive appearance, which can be further enhanced through polishing and finishing techniques. It can be polished to a high shine or left with a more matte finish, depending on the desired aesthetic.
