Fine expanded metals made of aluminium are very suitable as a material for architectural model making due to their easy machinability and their special aesthetics. They can also be used as a decorative or craft material, but you should always handle them with care so as not to injure yourself on the cut edges.

You can easily cut the fine aluminium expanded metal with scissors or a cutter and glue it with some adhesives (for example, UHU Hart or superglue).

Expanded metal is produced from sheet metal by cutting into it in an offset manner and then stretching it. In expanded metal, the material is not joined at any point (e.g. welded as in steel wire mesh).
