Description
Calcium Carbonate Filler Powder.
Calcium carbonate is a widely used filler in resin casting, especially in applications involving polyester, epoxy, and polyurethane resins.
Typical uses include sculptural casting, mould making & backfills, creating decorative panels, creating marble effect finishes (when mixed with pigments), prototyping and casting architectural models.
- Size: 10kg
- Mix ratio: up to 70% filler to resin. Start with a resin-to-filler ratio around 2:1 or 3:1 by weight. Adjust based on flow and final properties desired.
- Adds bulk to the castings, making the resin less runny, which can improve control during application.
- Reduce shrinkage during curing, especially in polyester resins.
- In thicker mixes, it helps prevent the resin from sagging on vertical surfaces or within moulds.

Please note: Adding fillers can make the resing harder to mix, reduce the strength of castings, makes the resin opaque and add weight to the castings.
