Non-Grain Raising Formula: This oil-based dye is specifically engineered to penetrate new or stripped timber without raising the grain, ensuring the wood remains perfectly smoothan essential feature for high-precision model making and fine woodworking.
Professional Pigment Quality: Formulated to be both non-fading and non-bleeding, this quick-drying stain provides a consistent, deep-penetrating colour that serves as the definitive base for any subsequent topcoat.
Versatile Colour Palette: Available in Light Teak, Walnut, Ebony, and Red Mahogany, allowing for a wide range of aesthetic finishes from natural timber tones to a solid, opaque black.
Universal Compatibility: Once dry, the dye creates a flat/matt finish that can be overcoated with any clear finish, including Danish Oil, Acrylic Varnish, French Polish, or Polyurethane, to achieve the desired level of protection and gloss.
Durable Interior & Exterior Use: Supplied in 250ml cans, this dye is suitable for both indoor projects and outdoor applications. It can be diluted with turpentine substitute for lighter shades and should be used in well-ventilated workspaces.
Modeller's Tip: For the best results on complex assemblies, apply the dye to individual components prior to gluing. This prevents glue squeeze-out from "masking" the wood and creating unsightly unstained patches.

Oil-based non-grain raising wood dye, for new or stripped wood, prior to finishing with any wood finish.

Can size: 250ml
Stain before applying glue (for pieces being assembled) as any over-spill of glue may prevent the stain from soaking into the timber.
Wood dye must be overcoated, any woodfinish can be used (DanishOil, Acrylic Varnishes, French Polishes, Shellac Sanding Sealer, Plastic Coating, Polyurethane Varnishes, YachtVarnish etc).
Can be used for interior and exterior use.
Dilutable with turps substitute. Use in a well-ventilated area
Non-fading and non-bleeding, quick-drying penetrating stain.
When dry the finish is flat/matt. Cover with gloss varnish, if a gloss finish is desired.
