Description

HexFlex Flexible Sealer & Primer - Professional High-Tenacity Coating

HexFlex is a premium, water-based technical coating engineered specifically for substrates that require total flexibility. Functioning as a high-performance sealer and primer, it creates a durable, "rubbery" bond that moves and stretches without cracking, peeling, or flagging. Specifically devised for foam surfaces, this latex-free formula cures with a sophisticated satin-matt finish and a completely tack-free surface. Whether used to seal porous EVA before painting or as a structural primer for mixed-media assemblies, HexFlex provides a seamless, professional foundation.

Applications:

  • Prop Making & SFX: The industry-standard primer for EVA foam, polystyrene, and textiles. It seals the cells of the material, preventing "paint soak" and ensuring that top coats remain vibrant and flexible during use in LARP, cosplay, or film sets.
  • Architectural Model Making: Ideal for priming organic landscape elements or "soft-touch" massing models. Its compatibility with polystyrene (Styrofoam) makes it a rare and valuable tool for sealing foam-core structures before applying solvent-based finishes.
  • Costume & Puppet Design: Perfect for wearable components and articulated puppets. Because it is latex-free, it is safe for all users and provides a permanent, crack-resistant skin for high-motion joints.
  • Industrial Prototyping: A versatile medium for coating 3D prints or ergonomic mock-ups. It can be thinned to act as a fine-detail primer that preserves the intricate geometry of the master.

Application Guide:

  1. Surface Prep: Ensure the surface is clean. For EVA foam, heat-sealing with a heat gun is recommended proir to application, but can be applied to almost any surface including polystyrene, wood & fabrics
  2. Coating: Apply in thin, even layers. Supplied thick, but can be thinned to the desired viscosity with water
  3. Drying: Allow approximately 3 hours between coats at room temperature, or accelerate with a heat gun
  4. Curing: Allow 12 hours for a full structural cure of the final coat

Tip: It can be thinnned enough to be used with an air gun
