Modulor Brass H-Beam Strips

Brass profiles are a high-quality and precise option for model making. Brass is easy to solder and can be cut to size using saws with saw blades for non-ferrous metals. Carefully made soldered joints make it easy to represent sturdy engineering structures such as girders or bridges in the model.

Care should be taken when drilling brass, as the drill can suddenly be pulled deep into the material completely unexpectedly. Drills and saws should be relief ground. Brass by itself (for example, right after sawing) has a shiny surface. However, it always tarnishes when exposed to air, and the surface becomes dull and darker. On the one hand, you can polish the surface so that it shines like new, but on the other hand, this will not prevent it from tarnishing again. To preserve the shine, you would have to clear coat the brass.
