Description
HexFlex Paint
Flexible. Highly pigmented. Built for surfaces that move.
HexFlex Paint is a water-based flexible paint that bonds properly to the substrates standard paint fails on. EVA foam, Plastazote, fabric, polystyrene, mixed-material builds. It flexes with the material underneath it rather than sitting on top waiting to crack.
Twenty-five colours. Satin-matt finish. Cures with no tack.
Why Flexible Paint Matters
Most paint is rigid when dry. On a static wall that's fine. On foam armour, a fabric costume piece, or a prop that gets handled every night, rigid means brittle. Bend it once and the finish breaks.
HexFlex cures flexible. The coating moves with the material, absorbs impact, and stays intact through repeated use, transit, and handling. It's the difference between a finish that lasts the run and one that needs touching up after the first day.
What It Works On
HexFlex Paint adheres and flexes properly on EVA foam, Plastazote, polyurethane foam, fabric, polystyrene, wood, MDF, and most mixed-material builds. If the surface is flexible, HexFlex stays flexible with it. If the surface is rigid, the coating holds just as well.
For best results on foam, heat seal the surface first and apply a coat of HexFlex Primer or HexFlex Clear before painting. On fabric, apply direct in thin coats.
Pigment and Coverage
HexFlex Paint uses a high pigment formulation. Colours are strong in one or two coats rather than four or five, which matters when you're working against a deadline or covering large surface areas.
Under stage lighting, event rigs, or studio conditions the colour reads properly. It doesn't wash out or go chalky when the rig goes up.
Colour Range
Twenty-five colours covering neutrals, earth tones, primaries, and a full range of greens, blues, pinks, and reds. Colours can be mixed together to achieve the exact shade you need. For a specific match, HexFlex Clear takes any water-based acrylic as a tint.
For production-specific or brand-led colour requirements, our colour matching service produces a precise match to your reference.
Application
Apply in thin coats by brush or roller. Thin with water for airgun or airbrush application. Dry time between coats is around three hours at room temperature, brought down to twenty or thirty minutes with a heat gun or hairdryer. Full cure on the final coat is twelve hours.
Part of the HexFlex System
HexFlex Paint sits within the HexFlex flexible coating system alongside Primer, Clear, Metallics, and Aerosol. Using the full system gives you consistent flexibility and adhesion from first coat to final finish.
